oen, two, three...

[this moment]

A single image capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savour and remember.

On Sunday I had a lovely brunch. The kind I had planned in my head many a time. And having had it, I want to make it somewhat of a tradition/routine. I made Jamie Oliver pancakes with blueberries, strawberries, maple flavoured golden syrup (pretty much as good as maple syrup!) and bacon. Iain came round, we ate and chatted and then went to church. It was so good. One day we'll do this often in a less slanted/bigger kitchen. And I'll take more and better pictures of the whole experience. It will be perfect.

Daring

I've decided I'm going to cut my fringe back in. Tonight. Because this

looks so much better than this

I'm aware that it's not really a fair comparison, but hey. That's just the way life goes.

Yummy breakfast. :)

Some wise words

I have been thinking something recently, and been frustrated when people don't do it. And when I don't do it. Tim Keller has (of course) put it into words much better than I ever could. And he said it from the pulpit - didn't even have to sit and ponder how to string these words and express a sentiment well.
He said this:
"When you volunteer here at [insert name of your church here], why not, instead of working the volunteering around your travel plans, why not work your travel plans around your volunteering duties? When you give a pledge or give money, instead of just giving what you're not going to miss anyway, why not be so generous that it actually changes the way you live? Why not take the jobs around church that get no applause? Why not get taken out of yourself and what's important to you, because of the glory of God?'
