One Week In...

I've now been working at Abbeyhill Primary for a week. It's so different to anything I've done before, even though I have worked in childcare and after school clubs for over four years now. It is chilled, controlled, friendly, pleasant, and the children are so nice. A couple are difficult, but generally they are awesome, polite, well behaved, concerned, obedient, tidy, wonderful children. I am enjoying it, in spite of the 6am wake up call each morning, and the weird sleeping pattern I have been in. There's really not much else to talk about, I mean, everyone is back from holiday, and things are pretty much back to normal after the break. I like normal. Hanging out with people. Church. Index. I went to one of the art galleries in Edinburgh today with Nadia, which was fun. We always fill hours with good conversation. There's so much to say and think about. It's awesome. This weekend involves lots of time with people, and still not much time in my bed, which is great in many ways, but I'm going to be so tired. Especially since my friend Katie is coming to stay next weekend, and the Index Weekend Away is the following weekend. But people are more important than sleep. Actually better go. Later!

A Cup of Tea... or Three

Isaiah 52:12 has been coming back at the most random of times. It's actually been brought to my attention 4 times this week, 3 times by people and once in My Utmost For His Highest, which is the most astonishing to me, because it was compiled in 1935, and even then God knew I would need this verse to be told to me these past two weeks. God knew. Isn't that awesome?

I don't like not doing anything. I don't like counting down to an event because I find myself forgetting to live in the present. And even though I'm waiting for people to get back, for Index to start back up, for a new job to begin, and for Katie to come up, I have not wasted time. I have had Nathan and Beki up from Paris, which was good times, I've hung out with Jen, Alan, Dave and Nadia, I've had cups of tea with Arpita, Nadia and Clair... Food and/or tea always make for good conversation times. I love spending quality time with people.

And even when there have not been people round, I have knitted, made cards, written to BT, emailed royal mail, semi sorted out a boiler replacement... yeah, there's alot wrong with the flat just now... and spent quiet time with God. Living room sofa + snow watching from the window + Bible + notebook + quilt covers + God + me = wonderful!

Last night there was a camp reunion at the Garretts' house, in Sharon, Massachusetts. Obviously I didn't quite make it. However, knowledge of Shaggy and Bex's engagement made it to me. Congratulations!!!
