Oh, how pinteresting!

Pinterest. One of my favourite websites. I can keep all my ideas and inspirations in one places, organised on different boards. Perfect. Much more pleasing to the eye than piles of paper, lists or bookmarks.

Here are a few of my boards, all categorized...

And when you open one of them, you get all the pins.

You can look at other people's pins, creations and ideas they've uploaded to their boards, and you can upload your own or pin things you find on other websites to add to a board, keeping all the things you like or find interesting in one huge collection. Well... mine's huge anyway! And the source is automatically added, so you can go back to the page and look up the recipe for that amazing looking bread for example, or find the tutorial for that gorgeous looking dress (not that I can sew...)

I'm so glad

I'm so thankful that He sees the depths of my heart and yet He loves me all the same. I'm thankful and in awe that He knows just how sinful I am, He knows the extent of my sin better than I do, and yet, He couldn't possibly love me any less. I cannot fathom it, nor comprehend it. I am humbled and at a loss for words.

My Easter Holiday

In a nutshell, this Easter, I have...

Visited Paris, seen my family, stayed with Jeanne, visited Belfast, been on three planes, caught up with Victoria and met her family, decided that I prefer easyjet to ryanair, completely organised, tidied, cleaned and de-cluttered my room, done the same to the kitchen, cycled a fair way, walked over 80 miles, been to a hen party, witnessed Passion for Life events, read Joshua, Judges and Ruth, finished Surprised by Joy by C.S. Lewis and Give Me This Mountain by Helen Roseveare, caught up on lack of sleep, enjoyed some half hour walks round the block, grocery shopping trips, tea breaks (you take what you can get when revision sets in! And I have to say, I've been given a lot more than I hoped for or expected. Atta boy!) and laughs with Iain, discovered how a simple phrase can be badly misinterpreted and cause a lot of confusion, saw Christine before she set off for Brussels, and found out how peanut butter is made...

What are YOU going to have on your toast tomorrow?

All in all, a lovely and productive holiday.

Prayer Warrior

"Anyone can pray in a crisis. Show me someone who will earnestly pray without a crisis and I will show you someone who's ready when one comes." - Bill Johnson

Some adventures

Next week, I'm going on an adventure, one I didn't think I would ever go on again. I'm flying Ryanair, an adventure in itself, and and I'm flying to Beauvais. To eventually get to Paris. Even that last bit I didn't think I'd say. Perhaps to visit the brother, but not just for kicks. And yet, that is exactly why I'm going. Because I want to. And I'm excited about it. I have plans to see a few people, but also have a couple of days of free time which I'm really looking forward to. I'm going to walk around the nice bits of Paris, bits I haven't ever seen but want to, bits I used to love and sometimes miss and bits I have heard about since moving away from Paris and want to check out. I'm also going to stay with my friend Jeanne which I'm really happy about, and bonus, the rest of my family will be visiting at the same time, though they will be staying with the brother. I'll be meeting up with them all as well as some old classmates. An unexpected add-on is a short trip to Belfast on the way home. All the flights back to the UK were upward of £120, not just to Edinburgh, but anywhere. Except the one to Belfast, which was £30. Perfect. So I'm going to Northern Ireland for 24 hours on my way home and will be staying with my friend Victoria who I haven't seen in a good couple of years, and who recently got engaged... I'm excited to hear the whole story, see her again and have some leisure time in Belfast too.

Other adventures are slightly more ordinary. And less set in stone. Usually located in or around Edinburgh. There are plans to go up Blackford hill and light some Chinese lanterns (a birthday present) and take a trip on the Firth of Forth, stopping for a while on an island and observing local wildlife (also a birthday present). A fair few lunches in the Meadows' green grass with blue skies overhead look likely as my first picnic of the year took place today. A hen party or two, a visit to London with Wedding Celebrations and a visit to the Hummingbird Bakery included, and some train trips to Newcastle over the summer are also in the works. Oh and I'm getting a lovely flatmate for 2 months over the summer too. All these plans will form more as time goes on. But I'm excited already.

Last Saturday, Iain took the whole day off revision and we went for a walk.
Or two actually. Because it was looking like rain, we stayed in the city.
We headed north in the morning, and south in the afternoon.
With a pause for lunch in between. Peri peri chicken. Yum!
