Some adventures

Next week, I'm going on an adventure, one I didn't think I would ever go on again. I'm flying Ryanair, an adventure in itself, and and I'm flying to Beauvais. To eventually get to Paris. Even that last bit I didn't think I'd say. Perhaps to visit the brother, but not just for kicks. And yet, that is exactly why I'm going. Because I want to. And I'm excited about it. I have plans to see a few people, but also have a couple of days of free time which I'm really looking forward to. I'm going to walk around the nice bits of Paris, bits I haven't ever seen but want to, bits I used to love and sometimes miss and bits I have heard about since moving away from Paris and want to check out. I'm also going to stay with my friend Jeanne which I'm really happy about, and bonus, the rest of my family will be visiting at the same time, though they will be staying with the brother. I'll be meeting up with them all as well as some old classmates. An unexpected add-on is a short trip to Belfast on the way home. All the flights back to the UK were upward of £120, not just to Edinburgh, but anywhere. Except the one to Belfast, which was £30. Perfect. So I'm going to Northern Ireland for 24 hours on my way home and will be staying with my friend Victoria who I haven't seen in a good couple of years, and who recently got engaged... I'm excited to hear the whole story, see her again and have some leisure time in Belfast too.

Other adventures are slightly more ordinary. And less set in stone. Usually located in or around Edinburgh. There are plans to go up Blackford hill and light some Chinese lanterns (a birthday present) and take a trip on the Firth of Forth, stopping for a while on an island and observing local wildlife (also a birthday present). A fair few lunches in the Meadows' green grass with blue skies overhead look likely as my first picnic of the year took place today. A hen party or two, a visit to London with Wedding Celebrations and a visit to the Hummingbird Bakery included, and some train trips to Newcastle over the summer are also in the works. Oh and I'm getting a lovely flatmate for 2 months over the summer too. All these plans will form more as time goes on. But I'm excited already.
