10 Things I like

1. Candles. Nice smelling ones.
2. Photos. Both looking through people's photos and taking my own. I would love to make something similar to this. But with my own photos. Obviously.
3. Baking. And I would love to make these and this.
4. Reading. I'm currently reading Trusting God with the girls core team and Charismatic Chaos by myself. I'm honestly struggling through that one. I need to find something that takes less thinking so that I don't have to stop every few pages and try to decipher if I agree or not and what I actually believe.
5. Travelling. And I love receiving the Lonely Planet magazine every month.
6. My friends. I love spending time with them and chatting for hours, laughing at all the silly things that happen to us in life and discussing profound truths and the lies we believe.
7. Iain. He counts in friends, but he's my best friend so he gets a special mention. God has blessed me with thrill and adventure.
8. Music. Just now, Allie Moss and Downhere particularly. When I say just now, I mean tonight.
9. Tea. A regular Tetley teabag kind of cup, Chai Lattes especially around Christmas, and London Fogs. YUM!!!
10. Seasons. I love each of them, all for different reasons.

I love...

I love the families in Carrubbers willing to have our indexers round for lunch, willing to accommodate and so hospitable and serving. With only a couple of weeks in the bulletin and an announcement from the front, we have had 10 families eagerly sign up to take some young folks to their homes on Sunday for some nosh and chat.

I love seeing progress in my piano playing (already) and even though it is going to be a slow and long process, it is a fun and worthwhile one.

I love last minute reunions. This weekend, I had a blast seeing old friends Jenni and Robbie and meeting their wee family and all of Jenni's siblings and their families.

I love last minute family visits. Yesterday, dad and Joe and Ben came up for the afternoon and left this morning. It was good to have them up and to provide them with a place to stay.

I love having a renewed desire to pray, pray, pray.

... been on half term break.

... swam 2km.

... seen spamalot at the playhouse.

... roasted a pork shoulder.

... spent time with Jeanne in Beanscene.

... spent time with Iain in Beanscene.

... had breakfast with Nadia in Montpelliers.

... purchased books to learn to do new things.

... organised a trip to Glasgow to see some old friends from Paris on Sunday.

... booked trains home for Christmas.


... snuggled warm in my new body warmer.


... baked lemon cupcakes and chocolate and hazelnut cupcakes, both from the hummingbird cookbook.

... sent parcels and cards to friends.

... slept in.

... admired my flowers. 

... amongst all the other more ordinary moments in life.

... and i've finally updated this blog!
with the hope and plan that this will be a more regular feature in my life.
